Richard Warner was born about 1819 in Hastings, SSX, ENG.
1,2,3 He and
Eliza Wright were married in 1841 in Ore, E. SSX, ENG.
1 He died in 1873 in Nelson, NZ.
3 Eliza was born at Hailsham, Sussex, England. Her parents and family moved to Ore, Sussex circa 1830. Richard WARNER & Eliza WRIGHT married at Ore in 1841. The y had one child in England, Richard Warner Jnr, and then emigrated to the new Nelson settlement. They had 12 issue and many of the WARNER descendants in NZ also had big families. Richard was lucky to escape during the Wairau incident. He squatted on land in The Wood, Nelson and eventually bought land there, in Cambria Street. Both Eliza & Richard died relatively young and their two youngest surviving children, Abraham and Martha, were adopted/raised by friends. It is likely that Joseph & Elizabeth WARNER who both died in 1851at Ore were the parents of Richard - Richard's father was definitely called Joseph. At Hailsham, James WRIGHT was a labourer come pedlar. PEDI

I've established that my forbear Richard WARNER [1819 Hastings, Sussex-1873 Nelson NZ], who married Eliza WRIGHT [1820 Hailsham-1865 Nelson NZ] at Ore in East Sussex in 1841, was the son of Elizabeth WARNER c.1778-1851. Elizabeth married John VOLLER in 1803 at Durley Hampshire then Joseph RONALDS in 1822 in Kent. Joseph RONALDS who was Richard's father was also known as Joseph WARNER. Abraham VOLLER 1804 -1875 who took his family to Nelson NZ like Richard & Eliza was the son of John VOLLER & Elizabeth WARNER.
If anyone on the list is not up with the play on the above, then drop me a line privately. The key to it all is a 29 Nov 1829 settlement examination at Winchelsea in Sussex and removals that spell out the family history. Note that there are DNA matches between descendants of Richard and descendants of Abraham.
Elizabeth WARNER was born at Durley Hampshire circa 1778 which means that her parents have to be John WARNER & Ann WAREHAM who lived there and were married 1778 at Bishops Waltham the parish next to Durley. Theirs were the only WARNER family at Durley in the period of interest.
Ann WAREHAM was buried 1832 at Durley age 89 making her born about 1743.
I did my DNA and now I'm matching people with trees regarding WAREHAM going back to Tarrant Dunville in Dorset, and nearby Fontmell Magna before that. Ashmore later on is another place of interest, also nearby.
So, has anyone else descending from Richard WARNER got DNA matches with people whose trees have WAREHAM in Dorset?
And has anyone descending from Abraham VOLLER got DNA matches with people whose trees have WAREHAM in Dorset?
And has anyone descending from WAREHAM at the places in Dorset I've mentioned got DNA matches with researchers in NZ who descend from Richard WARNER & Eliza WRIGHT, and also from Richard's half-brother Abraham VOLLER and his wife Elizabeth JONES? PEDI. Richard Warner was a quarryman and blacksmith in 1842.
1 He immigrated to ENG to Nelson on the Olympus arriving 28 oct 1842 on 16 June 1842.
1 He was a special constable in 1843.
