John Vallance was born in 1815 in AYR, SCT.1,2 He and Jane Tannahill were married in 1870 in Huntingdon Co., Quebec, CAN.3 He died in 1902, at age ~87, in NZ.2

I clicked on the surnames and my great grandfather John Marsh Packer is on there. That is on my fathers side. Tannahill and Vallance are on my mothers side. Marion Vallance, daughter of john Vallance and Jane Tannahill is my great great grandmother. Not sure if that is any help or just more confusing for you.

Thanks so much for all the info you sent. Marion Vallance was born in Canada and came over with her mother. I can only go back five more generations than Marion, which takes it to the early 1700's. Marion is my mothers great grandmother, I do have some old photocopies of pictures of the Vallance family. Any more details I am happy to send to you. I have everything on a PAF file so may need to wait for my son to return to Nelson as he is away up north doing the Dunkleys Craft shows with his business. He is far better at attaching items by email than I am, sorry. The first pic is the Packer line, the second is Jane Vallance nee Tannahill.

Hi Tony, just printed off some VALLANCE family and this other John I have I see he arr NZ 1867. Cyclopedia NZ. He was born 1815,died 1902 He could be a brother or cousin to Alexander. He could even be the other J VALLANCE on the ship Queen, a maybe. Have another child for yours. Pat pbakerblom@xtra.co.nz. John Vallance emigrated from to NZ from Canada about 1863.3
