Went into business with a brother in Wellington 1842 but premises destroyed by a fire. 1844 opened a trading station Waipaoa River. Later became a storeman for Captain READ, resided Poverty Bay for 60 years. JAM. John Hervey immigrated to to Wellington about 1842.1 He was a trader, Poverty Bay in 1851.2
