PIONEER FAMILIES UNITED Two of the oldest families in New Zealand were united on Saturday at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Hastings, when Miss Edna Constance Tucker, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. Tucker, of Mangateretere, Hastings, was married to Squadron Leader Ellis Schnackenberg, R.N.Z.A.F., only son of Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Schnackenberg, of Onehunga. The ceremony was performed by the Very Rev. D. D. Scott, of Khandallah, Wellington, assisted by the Rev. D. M. Cattanach, of Hastings. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a white net frock appliqued with lace flowers and mounted on a full taffeta skirt. Her veil, a family possession of off-white tulle embroidered with flowers, was held in place by a top-knot of rosebuds to match her bouquet. The bridesmaid, Miss Joan Rees, wore a frock of skyblue watered taffeta. The best man was Mr. T. R. Clarkson, of Wellington and Auckland. Ttie bride's great-great-grandparents arrived in New Zealand from England in 1841, while the bridegroom is the grandson of the late Rev. C. H. Schnackenberg, a Methodist missionary who arrived from Sydney in 1839. Ellis Carl Schnackenberg was a Squadron Leader RNZAF in 1943.2
