Is there anyone on this list who has seen the original of a letter written by Miriam Palmer in Bramford, Suffolk to her daughter Salome in Nelson, NZ, in 1847. I have a transcription which I made many years ago from another transcription, but am aware that errors could have crept in as it has been copied and recopied many times. My guess is that it is with family papers held at Nelson Provincial Archives. Please don't reply that you also guess that to be the case. I want to hear from anyone who has actually seen it and approximately when, before I can say so with some conviction. There is no possibility of me getting to Nelson to go through those papers myself unfortunately, being now over 90. If there is no response from the list I will contact the Archives myself.
