The ship left Sydney early 1838 and made a few trips to Otago and also to Dusky Sound but was wrecked on the Tairei River mouth bar 9 jun 1839.with two crew drowned ( see "Shipwrecks NZ Disasters 1795 -1950".) William Wells was a Master of Dublin Packet in 1839.1
