Brown migrated from Dundee to Perthshire, and then to London and finally to New Zealand on the Aurora, arriving at Wellington in Jan 1840. It describes the family's life on Kapiti Island in the 1840s, Brown's election to the Wellington Provincial Council in 1853, his efforts to secure title to land; the arrival of his daughters in 1855. Includes information about his 5 children and their descendants and an index to people mentioned. Andrew Brown was baptized on 12 February 1797 in Mains and Strathmartine, Dundee, SCT.4 He immigrated to NZ on the Aurora arriving NZ 7/1/1840 on 18 September 1839.6 He was a Smith & Carpenter in 1840.6 He was a trader, Kapiti Area in 1841.2 He was a member of Wellington Provincial Council in 1853.5
