James ( sorry not john) Farrance married Sophia Streeter on the same day Job Coppins and Harriet did, just a few days before the Aurora sailed. Although her Sophias name is not logged.
She gave birth to a daughter Charlotte in June 1841 in Wellington although this information lost in a fire (supposedly) Most likely Charlotte is the daughter of James Farrance There is a letter stating Sophia met up with Thomas Kennedy .( Letter states James drowned.) in Wellington , then rowed with other men in a long boat to Akaroa. Thomas and Sophia married in 1847 and had 8 or 9 other children- Joseph Patrick Kennedy being my direct line.
There is also been followed up by other family researchers as theres also stories Thomas came to NZ on a whaling boat from America. They found DNA evidence of his brother Kearn in America from his descendants.
Sophia was born in a workhouse to an Elizabeth Streeter in Hunton Kent but conflicting evidence who her father is. Sophia Streeter was baptized on 9 March 1822 in East Farleigh, Kent, ENG.
