Death of Mrs George Crawford. Wo record with regret the death of Mrs George Crawford, which took place at her residence, Ingestre street Friday morning. Mrs Crawford was one of theoldest settlers in the district having amived in Wellington in 1841. and she leaves one son, Mr W. G. Crawford. The cause of death was priacipally heart diesease which tho deceased had suffered from for some time. Mary Anne Gosling immigrated to arrived Wellington 1841 in 1841.2

It is our painful duty to record the death of a lady who for many years took an active part in benevolent movements in Wellington, and endeared herself to thp hearts of all who formed her acquaintance. We refer to Mrs. Pilcher, sen., who breathed her last at the residence of one of her sons (Mr. Henry Pilcher) yesterday. Mrs. Pilcher lost her husband in England in 1844, and came out in the ship Wild Duck in 1864 to join her sons, who had arrived in Wellington some time preyionsly. She was a sister of the late Mr. E. Catchpool, at one time Collector of Customs at JSTapjer, and a niece of Mr. E. B. Hopper, one of the pioneers of the colony, who came out in the Oriental in 1840, and who was drowned in the Hutt River the same year. The deceased lady was 85 years of age, and leaves two sons (Mr. T. Pilcher, of the Wellington Express and General Carrying Company, and Mr. H. Pilcher, of H.M Customs, Wellington), a daughter (Mrs. Westin, of Petone), and a number of grandchildren to mourn their loss. Catchpool immigrated to ENG to Wellington on the Wild Duck in 1864.1
