She married William Sanson when she was 17 and he was 24.
They had 8 children, the last one, Thomas, was born in July 1872.
On the 15 January 1873 she and her husband were crossing the Rangitikei River, she was holding 6 month old Thomas, when their horses stumbled and she and the baby were thrown off and swept away by the current.
Her body was found 2 days later
no info at this time on the finding of baby Thomas's body.

Of that information on Roots Web there needs to be a correction made on my mother Agnes Scott's mother was Rozilla Alexander (the 2nd wife), not Catherine Latimer. Also Rosilla Alexander was born 27 April 1870 in Kanosh, Millard, Utah, USA, not 1857, Fenwick, Scotland.
Rozilla had two children by R.L.Scott: John Scott, 14 Feb 1888, died 14 Apr 1888. Born and died at Deseret, Millard, Utah, USA; and my mother, Agnes Scott, 31 May 1896, Colonia Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico.
