MRS. E. G. DINGLE The death has occurred in her 90th year of Mrs. Emma Grace Dingle, of Boyle Crescent, Grafton, widow of Mr. John Veale Dingle. Both were early pioneers of Taranaki, where Mr. Dingle was born in 1848 and Mrs. Dingle in 1852. They were married in 1874, and had celebrated the 65th anniversary of their wedding before Mr. Dingle's death occurred in September, 1939. Mrs. Dingle was a daughter of the late Mr. Samuel Oliver, who built the first flour mill in New Plymouth, and afterward operated a vessel between Sydney and New Plymouth, bringing cattle to feed the troops in the Taranaki War.

OBITUARY MRS. G Mitchelson The death has occurred at her residence, 7 Ridings Road, Remuera, of Mrs. Gertrude Mitchelson, aged 80, widow of the late Mr. Richard Mitchelson. Mrs. Mitchelson was the fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. .James Westwood, who were among the first settlers of the Remuera district. After her marriage she spent some years in Dargaville, but, with the exception of a world tour undertaken about sixyears ago, all the rest of her life was spent in Remuera. Until she broke a. leg 18 months ago, she led a very active life, and from the accident she made a remarkable recovery. Mr. Mitchelson, who was a brother and business associate of the late Sir Edwin Mitchelson, died many years ago. Mrs. Mitchelson is survived by a stepdaughter and_ two sisters.
