Elizabeth Ann Hoskin was born in 1808.1 She and Jesse (Justinian) (Jefsetus) Jury were married on 7 April 1825 drowned.2 She died on 3 October 1869, at age ~61, in Poverty Flat, New Plymouth, NZ.2
Henry Justin Jury was born on September 8th 1839 in Ashburton, Devon, England and baptised at Launceston, Cornwall. He arrived in New Zealand at New Plymouth on board the first emigrant vessel to the new settlement, the William Bryan at the age of approximately 14 months. Henry fought in the Maori Wars as a member of the Taranaki Mounted Volunteers where he saw action at Manitahi and Kaitoke. He was awarded the New Zealand War Medal. Henry moved to Thames where he became a gold miner. On March 3rd he married Sarah Dixon who died on January 29th 1881, six days after giving birth to Harry Justin Jury. Henry subsequently married Margaret Gracie on August 23rd 1882 by whom he had another 8 children. On May 17th 1901 at the age of 62, Henry died of miners phthisis.
