I am a descendant of Riria Taihekeheke / Parker and I found your site yesterday and wondered how much is known about the Codfish Island connection. I have a fair bit of information about the descendants of James (Tiemi ) Parker and Elizabeth Rachel Howell. kiwi_designers@xtra.co.nz;
previously had John married Riria 1861 ( source BC) but this unlikely although they had a son 1851 in Wellington.
note there is some doubt about whether Riria TAIHEKEHEKE is Lydia CANON. Other sources claim Riria born Kaikoura 1812 and taken by Te Raurapaha to Kapiti where she eventually met the whaler David CLARK and was married to him 1845. THA. John (Jack) Parker was a whaler in 1853.
