MR. CHARLES BOSWELL
Tho death of Mr. Charles Boswell, who was born in Auckland in 1846, occurred at the residence of his daughter at Grey Lynn yesterday. Mr. Boswell's parents arrived in Auckland in the ship Duchess of Argyle in 1842, and his early childhood days were spent at the copper mines at Kawau. Later he was one of the pupils to attend the first Sunday school in Auckland, which was at Freeman's Bay. The discovery of gold at Thames attracted Mr. Boswell to the Coromandel Peninsula, and there he spent the greater part of his life in mining pursuits. The principal mines he was associated with were the Kaponga and Tokatea. In his leisure time ho took a keen interest in many forms of sport, and yachting wps his favourite pastime. In 1874 he married Miss Annie E. White, who arrived in Auckland in the shijs* Woodlark. Mrs. Boswell survives her husband, and there is a family of six daughters and four sons. One son was killed in France in 1918. There are over 20 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will take place at Waikumete Cemetery to-day.
