We regret to learn that on Saturday last, /it noon, Mr Harcourt Richard Aubrey, of / Whaugarei Heads, died suddenly of heart disease, at Bevonporb, whilst viewing some proDerty belonging to him, in company with his daughter, Mrs Petry. Dr Roberts was immediately sent for, aad arrived within a few minutes, bub pronounced life extinct. The coroner has considered ib unnecessary to hold an inquest, as ? certificate of death haa been given by Dr. Marsack, who had attended deceased for some years. Mr Aubrey was one of the oldest residents in this colony, having arrived here in tha year 1841. He was for thirty-seven years R.M. and Collector of Customs, at Hokianga and Whangarei. The deceased had boen staying at Rotorua for two months, and returned on Monday last to Mrs Petry's residence at Franklin Road, feeling much improved. On Saturday morning he visited his daughter, Mrs E. 11. Lyons, of Parnell, and lef b her residence apparently in the best of spirits. He leaves three sous and six daughters to mourn their loss, the eldest married to Mr R. Thompson, M.H.R., the second bo Mr Pdtry, third to Mr E. H. Lyons; and one son married in Melbourne. Mr Anbroy was the eldeab son of the late Colonel H. Aubrey, of H.M. Life Guards ; he was well known and highly esteemed fchroHghoub New Zealand. The body will be conveyed to Whangarei Heads to-morrow for interment.
