Isaac (Dr) Earl Featherston was born on 21 March 1813 in Newcastle on Tyne, ENG.1,2,3,4,5,6,4 He and Bethia Campbell Scott were married on 10 December 1839. He died on 19 June 1876, at age 63, in Hove, Sussex, ENG.1

Born in England 1813 and graduated as a physician in Edinburgh 1836. Sailed to New Zealand as a surgeon on the Olympus 1840. Member of Parliament 1853-70 and four times elected Superintendent of Wellington. Appointed Agent General for New Zealand in London in 1870 where he died on 21st June 1876. Featherston in the Wairarapa was named after him in 1854.
Source: New Zealand Gazette No60 28th October 1875. He immigrated to arrived Wellington from London May 1841 on Olympus in December 1840.1 He was an M D in 1843.5
