In the process of researching a certain Elizabeth Ann Alexander I came
across your work on the pre1846 period in NZ. EAA arrived in NZ on board
the 'Catherine Stewart Forbes' in 1841, aged 17 and with a new daughter born at sea.

I can give you more information on what happened to Elizabeth Ann if
you're interested. I don't know what happened to her daughter as yet but
I'm working on it, trying to find out what her name was!

I found someone on ancestry with a tree that shows his father, James,
died in 1856 in a bullock cart accident at Rimataka Hill, I googled and
found a Rimutaka Hill in Upper Hutt so looks like the right family.
James turns out to be more like 52 than 42 when he arrives in NZ though,
I guess he thought taking a few years off his age was a good idea to be
accepted. Also turns out they had a son Thomas born in 1815 so both he &
his wife were probably quite a bit older than they said they were!
