Was on the crew of the Dromedary which spent 10 months in NZ in 1820. copy of part of a dairy in Alexander Turnbull Library.
note Richard A CRUISE was also on the Dromedary and also wrote a Journal.
1820 went overland from BOI to Hokianga with Marsden. JI
visited BOI 1820 / 1821 on the HMS Dromedary JL
Alexander Turnbull Library published a reprint of McCRAE's journal with some notes by editor. ALMC
joined the army at age 14. Various postings up to 1840 where he was a Captain. ALMC
emigrated to Victoria AUS 1840. ALMC. Alexander (Ensign) (McRAE) McCRAE was an Ensign 84th regiment on Dromedary when visited NZ in 1820.7 He was a Postmaster General, Victoria, AUS in 1851.9
