William Judd junior arrived in New Zealand on the ship Bolton on April 21st 1840. He came to New Zealand on his own. He was only 16 years old when his father arrived with his new wife and half brothers six months later. He settled in the Wellington area. On the 12th August 1844, he married Mary Jane Clarke Lonsdale who had arrived in New Zealand on the Bengal Merchant on the 20th February 1840. William and Mary Judd had 12 children altogether. William died on the 3 May 1866. KMC

Shortly after this (25th August, 1840), a fatal accident occurred at Pito-one, when a boat party of twelve persons were within a hundred yards of the beach. The boat was upset, and though they were in less than seven feet of water, only three survived the accident.
These were Mr. Francis Bradey, Mr. Fowler and the steersman. Those drowned were Messrs. J. Pierce; W. Elsdon; R. Hight; Lancaster; Josiah Tucker; Martin, a sailor belonging to the boat and lately of the ?Jewess?; Griffin, late steward of the ?Cuba; Rogers, a thatcher; and a person known as ?Colonial Bill.?

Description of Grave
The original grave is shown top left (1960s photo by Sexton Shotter). Today three plaques in white marble with lead lettering are lying flat on the ground. Two are broken, one of those with a piece missing.
Harriett was the teenage daughter of Isaac and Elizabeth LOVELOCK. Isaac LOVELOCK was born in 1805 near Maidstone in Kent. He married Elizabeth BISHOP in 1830 and they emigrated (with four children) to Wellington on the "Bolton", arriving at Petone on 21 Apr 1840. Isaac was employed as a labourer. The family lived at the top of Cuba Street, next to Tonks' brickyard. Isaac Lovelock had person sources.4 He was baptized on 6 January 1805 in Tonbridge, Kent, ENG.3 He immigrated to ENG to NZ on the Bolton arriving NZ 21/4/1840 on 19 November 1839.5 He was an Agricultural Labourer in 1840.5 He was a labourer, Te Aro Flat in 1844.6 He was a labourer, fencer, gardener from 1853 to 1866.7
