NOTE: There was a T SHAW who maintained a 3 day watch over the prisoner "Maketu" 6 - 9th march. (Maketu had attempted suicide and was hung 9th march in Auckland)
ref: IA 1842/377 "list of expenses from J COATES to Colonial Secretary for expenses relating to execution of Maketu."
The N Z History site states that Isaac SHAW accompanied Maketu to Auckland.

My Great grandmother Louisa Shaw was born in Whangaroa 1842. Her parents
were Isaac Shaw Chief Constable NSW Mounted Police arrlving BOI Dec 1840 on GOV.BRIG Victoria with H.Fisher
Commissioner of Crown Lands.He was on a police assignment with 5 mounted Constables from Nsw.(to capture absconded convicts from Australia) and was billeted at a Missionary Station. They were called " Catskins". NZ Family explorer states lsaac Shaw was married to LOUISA ---? and daughter Louisa Shaw was born 1842 Whangaroa. Citation 962V ( A.nglican BOI Births Marriages Deaths) ln 1845 lsaac Shaw took a position in Akaroa accompanied by Wife LCUISA---? and Child Louisa his wife died in childbirth in Akaroa 1847 age 24 Bur. old French Cemetery Akaroa.[tly Question is to find out who my Great-

marriage registered in BOl.
Probably not Maori as her obit mentions she was teaching Europeans in Akaroa.
Isaac dismised from post of chief constable in Akaroa in 1849 and returned to Australia sometime after that.
