The death is announced of Mr Samuel Christie Baird, of Otara, a settler well known and respected for his many good qualities as a neighbour and friend. His funeral will take place to-morrow (Tuesday) about 3 p.m., leaving for the Otara Cemetery soon after the arrival of the down train. His funeral will be, without doubt, largely attended by friends who live at a distance, many of whom will have to come by the train above mentioned. Samuel Christie Baird immigrated to from London arrived Auckland 9 jul 1850 on the Fairy Queen on 9 February 1850.1,2,5
