John McMULLEN

The death of an old 65th man named John McMullen took place at the Veterans' Home last nkrht. Deceased joined the famous regiment in January, 1846. and arrived in New Zealand the same year. He served with his regiment through the Maori war, lrom I86O to 1865. taking his discharge in the latter year at Auckland, where he remained until his death. The deceased has been an inmate of the Veterans' Home since 1905 being respected and loved by all. The interment will take place to- j morrow, when the old soldier's remains , will be accorded military honours. John McMULLEN immigrated to arrived Auckland on the Java jul 1846 in 1846.1,3,2 He was a soldier 65th Regt in January 1846.1
