Ann Sargent Turner was born on 3 March 1823 in Hobart, Tasmania, AUS, ESR has 1825 Paihia.1,2,3,4 She and John Harcourt were married in 1849 in Paramatta, NSW, AUS.2

Ann married John Harcourt, born 22 March 1817 in Birmingham, the son of John Harcourt and Elizabeth. His
father was a brassfounder. He was early orphaned, his parents dying before he was eight. He was educated at
King Edward's Grammar School. In 1842, with his cousin Robert, and a Mr Stevens, he chartered a vessel in Tyne
to take goods to New Zealand. Off the coast of Tasmania, the vessel became leaky and the crew mutinous, so
they put into Hobart. It is believed he gave up a commercial career to enter the ministry in 1845.
In 1846/7 he was in South Australia with a circuit of 130 miles from Willunga to Burra. In 1849 he married Ann
Sargeant Turner, daughter of the Rev. Nathaniel Turner at the Weslyan Chapel, Parramatta, NSW. From 1848-51
he was in Melbourne, Collins St. church, then preacher at the "diggings" at Mt Alexander (now Castlemaine). He
was back to Wullunga, SA between 1852-5 and in Adelaide, SA from 1857-9. He was in Castlemaine, VIC. In 1860-
2 and Melbourne 1863-8. In 1869-71 he was in Launceston, Tasmania and back to Sandhurst (Bendigo) between
1872-3. From 1874-6 he was in Melbourne, then Sale, VIC from 1877-8. He was in Geelong from 1879-81 and
retired in 1882. He died on December 6 1893 at his residence "Home Cottage" Kew, where his mother-in-law Ann
Turner also died, and was buried at Boroondara Cemetery, Kew, Vic. Ann Sargent Turner was baptized on 28 March 1823 in Hobart, Tasmania, AUS.2 She immigrated to arrived Bay of Islands on Brampton on 3 August 1823.1 She emigrated from BOI to Sydney on the Sisters on 17 January 1827.5

Walter (Rev) Lawry was born in 1793 in Cornwall, ENG.1,2,3 He died in 1859, at age ~66, in Paramatta, NSW, AUS.1,2
Walter (Rev) Lawry was a Wesleyen missionary, Tonga, gen suptd Wesleyen missions in NZ.4 July 1822 visited LEIGH and HALL families in Bay of Islands and John BUTLER at Kerikeri. They were on board the ship St Michael enroute to set up a mission in Tonga.
Rev. Walter Lawry, who was born in Cornwall, England in the year 1793, and came of a yeoman family. He was appointed by the British Wesleyan Conference in 1817 as the second Wesleyan missionary for Australasia, and arrived in Sydney in May 1818. He shortly afterwards married into the Hassall family, of the original pioneer missionaries.
In 1822 the Rev. Walter Lawry was appointed by the British Wesleyan missionary committee to open a mission in Tongatabu, now known as Tonga, but was recalled to Sydney shortly afterwards, and returned to England in 1824 where he occupied several important positions in English circuits connected with the Wesleyan page 232 Conference, for 19 years. In 1843, he was again sent out to Occania as general superintendent of the New Zealand Wesleyan mission. He immigrated to arrived Auckland 17 mar 1844 on the Tryphena in 1844.5,2 He was a General Superintendent Methodist Missionary Activities NZ in 1844.5
